Meet Ally
Hi! I'm Ally, owner of Captivated Canine. I am a dog trainer based in West Michigan, and deeply passionate about pets and people. I have been dog training for about seven years and have helped well over 1,500 dogs and their handlers become effective teams. My role is teaching owners how to communicate effectively with their dogs and become successful trainers themselves.
I have worked with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. My own dog, Apollo, and I have dabbled and competed in a number of sports including dock diving, lure coursing, disc, and agility. Together we have also earned all three Canine Good Citizen titles, several trick titles, and we have done therapy work in schools and nursing homes.
While my world now revolves around four legged friends, my education background started in social work. While I was working with at-risk youth, I brought home Apollo. As we began obedience training I fell absolutely in love with the learning process. After dedicating nearly a year of my free time to studying dog training, an opportunity became available for me to pursue being a trainer myself. I took it and never looked back.
